How two-step sign-in works+
Two-step sign-in is an extra lock on your account. After your password you also type a 6-digit code from an app on your phone, so someone who learns your password still cannot sign in. It is your choice: switch it on or off yourself under Settings / Account / Security.
Setting it up (about a minute)
- Install an authenticator app on your phone: Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator or 1Password.
- In Nuomalengvai open Settings / Account, press “Set up” under Two-step sign-in, then “Start”.
- In the app tap + and choose “Scan a QR code”, then point the phone at the code on the screen. Cannot scan? Choose “Enter a setup key” and type the key shown under the QR code.
- The app now shows a 6-digit code under Nuomalengvai. Type it and press “Turn on two-step sign-in”.
Signing in afterwards
Enter your e-mail and password as usual. Then open the app on your phone and type the 6-digit code shown under Nuomalengvai. The code changes every 30 seconds: if it is about to change, wait for the new one.
If the code is not accepted
- Type the code the app shows right now, not an earlier one.
- Set your phone's date and time to update automatically: the codes depend on the exact time.
- If the app lists Nuomalengvai more than once, use the newest entry and delete the older ones left from earlier tries.
New or lost phone
Ask an administrator to reset your two-step sign-in under Settings / Users / your name. You then sign in with your password only, and can set it up again on the new phone.
To switch it off, open Settings / Account and press “Turn off” under Two-step sign-in.
